Indeed, yesterday was a day when Attaqwa Football Team has heeled from the demolition defeat we have been given in eastern Maine city of Lewiston about a month ago when we visited there for the 3rd Semi-Annual conference of Students of New England Masjids.

We had lost on that day in the beginning of July in highly rough ground with a lot of water and grass in it. In the end Attaqwa Team suffered a loss of 6-2 in the process. Since then we requested our brothers in Lewiston, Maine to make a re-match for us which will be hosted here in Boston.

Yesterday was approaching with what we expected. We have given everything to enjoy a highly dramatic game that saw our players with a comfortable 4-2 win for Attaqwa team of Boston.

It started with a beautiful hospitality shown by the management and the whole Attaqwa boys to the guests that came to us from Lewiston, Maine. We began with the consultations that were told to us by our coach (Abdiwahid Maamow) with a pace, power, speed, agility and strong passing game.

Unfortunately, the luck and a good work from the opponents saw us 1-0 down in 10 minutes. Nevertheless, we did not lose any hope and at some point we knew we have to beat them today. In a very well crafted midfield work from Attaqwa midfielder, Asad, gave Abdulqadir Hassan a scoring opportunity and he scored beautifully from the near post.

The game marched on with a superb passing and an eye-catching style when Mahad Mucawiyah, a substitute, gave the hosts of the chance to take the game in a high tempo and made it 2-1 to Boston's Attaqwa team.

The interval came in after a few minutes and everyone was eager to listen tactics of the coaches of both sides. Brother Abdullahi , Lewiston coach, seemed to worked when Lewiston's #14 shirt holder equalized soon after the re-start. The game was tied 2-2.

In a split of a second there was a huge response from the Attaqwa team to make it 3-2 from a nice header by Abdulqadir Hassan who had 2 goals from the game. The match continued with a skillful of chances being wasted from both sides. But there was a thunderous effort from a free kick that resulted from a challenge that seen brother Omar from Attaqwa being brought down. The result was an astonidhing GOOL from the man of the match Asad who plays midfield for Attaqwa Team.

The game was over in 4-2 win for Attaqwa Students. Thanks to everyone who took part for this great occasion and made things easier.

On behalf of Attaqwa Sports Management,

Attaqwa Students.
