On Saturday, December 26, 2009, at the Tobin community center there has been one of the most entertaining soccer tournament ever held in Boston.

This tournament was part of the 4th semi-annual conference of New England somali youth held at the ISBC mosque at the Roxbury crossing. They were eight teams who participated in this tournaments, and all the teams showed terrific performance with outstanding discipline and team play.

However, Altaqwa stars who were representing Boston Islamic Center brought the title where it belonged to, the BIC. Altaqwa stars were the favorite from the get go when they sunk the Ohio team, and the likes of Gulled and Omar were the driving force of the team and dominated the team.

The second game, Altaqwa played against a well decorated Odayaasha team. Again Altaqwa team were victorious. A breathtaking performance by Majid Abdalla and Gulled and courageous goal keeping techniques by Omar when he stopped the frequent shots of Mohamed Abdallah see off the Odayasha team, the game ended 5-4. 

 Not to forget the team of the tournament, Lewiston FC who were tough to defend for their high skilled players with their tremendous movement on the ball. However, they were knocked out of the tournament by the Boston Stars.

Boston stars played great football and their key players played key part for their surge to the final and dismantling stubborn Lewiston FC.

The final was between Altaqwa stars, the favorite, Boston stars, the team that represents Boston. the tempo and the atmosphere of the game was very high, and both teams were unable to concede any goals for the first period of the game. After few minutes into the second half, Majid Abdalla, the best player of the tournament opened the deadlock with well struck goal. Soon after, Gulled, the top scorer of the cup added second gaol, and Ali netted the third who made the quick impression after coming on as substitute, he assisted two goals and scored one.

As mentioned above, this soccer tournament was a portion of the greater Mu�tamar that took place the ISBC mosque. The cups and other awards were presented to the players at the conclusion of the conference. Sheikh Yusuf, Sheikh Abdullahi Ashur, Sheikh Tawakal, and coach Abdallah were honored to give out the awards. The crowd was very excited, cheering, takbiiraad and many more. It was three days to remember for all who participated in this wonderful gathering, and the soccer tournament contributed fun and happines to the Mu'tamar.
